Information on buffaloes 2

Information on buffaloes:
🐃During the last period “the average distance traveled every day by animals equipped with GPS collars has significantly decreased. These observations could indicate that they have settled in areas of tranquility where they can find water and food,” explains Dr. Cecile Sérié-Mérel from Fondation François Sommer who is monitoring the animals.
In November 2024, a total of 14,153 positions were recorded. 3,356.4 km were traveled by buffaloes, with a monthly average of 176.7 km per individual.
Unfortunately, a male equipped with GPS collar was found dead from dehydration far south of the park while a female was poached near the protected area.
