Dear Friend of Gilé National Park…

Dear Friend of Gilé National Park,
Following a brief slowdown in activities due to the national post-election period, we are pleased to announce the full resumption of our community programs.
Throughout this time, the park’s maintenance and Infrastructure Services, along with our dedicated rangers, have remained active in the field. Their tireless efforts have continued in the fight against poaching, illegal resource extraction and the mitigation of human-wildlife conflict.
Monitoring of key species has also been carried out consistently.
🟡After two years of dedicated work and close negotiation with Administração Nacional das Áreas de Conservação ANAC (National Administration of Conservation Areas), the new collaborative agreement project has officially been transmitted to the MAAP (Ministério da Agricultura, Ambiente e Pescas-Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries) for validation and signature;
🟡GNAP successfully completed the process to secure additional funding from the PROMOVE- Biodiversidade program, (Biofund) supported by the European Union. This new phase of the project will run through October 2026, further strengthening our conservation and community engagement initiatives;
🟡Our Community Development Department CDD recently took part in the Steering Committee meeting of the ACAMOZ I project, led by our valued partner Nitidæ. The meeting highlighted several successful experiences among both individual and collective producers, and reaffirmed the strong, ongoing collaboration between Nitidæ, GNAP and other partners;
🟡The 6th of June, GNAP joined the global call to actio” in honor of World Environment Day 2025.
We thank you for your continued support,
GNAP Management
